Sheltered housing
The Council has 16 schemes across the borough for tenants over 60 years to support independent living. Tenants receive contact based on their preference and need as agreed with you and an annual visit from a Tenancy Support Officer.
Sheltered housing offers:
- privacy and independence
- support from your Tenancy Support Officer
- emergency alarm system in your home
Alarm system
Each home has an alarm system fitted that you can use for emergencies. If you live in general needs accommodation you can hire an alarm system as well.
Sheltered housing developments also include:
- door entry systems
- communal gardens and laundry facilities (some)
- communal rooms with regular social activities
