Housing repairs policy

Safeguarding

Safeguarding means protecting people's health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.

Safeguarding concerns or issues that become apparent whilst undertaking housing repairs work, will be reported to one of the Council's designated Safeguarding Officers, or to a manager. If there is a risk of immediate danger or harm to anyone, matters will be reported to the Police first, by calling 999, and then a Safeguarding Officer will be made aware. Safeguarding worries can also be reported to Adult and Children Services on 0344 800 8020.
