Free energy efficiency improvements for homes in the borough of Great Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has secured funding from the Home Upgrade Grant scheme to improve the energy efficiency of homes across the area. Working in partnership with E.On Energy Services, the Council will be carrying out a range of improvements for householders for free, subject to the qualifying criteria listed here.

Does my home comply for energy efficiency improvements?

If you heat your home using oil, LPG (bottled gas), coal, wood or electricity, you could meet the criteria and benefit from one of the following upgrades:

  • air source heat pump
  • solar panels
  • cavity wall insulation
  • external wall insulation
  • loft insulation

The specific types of upgrades provided will depend on what works are needed to improve the energy efficiency of your home. The intention is firstly to improve the energy efficiency of properties by increasing insulation before installing air source heat pumps or solar panels.

Only eligible properties and occupiers will be able - subject to funding - to receive energy efficiency improvements.

Home qualifications

To qualify for improvements from the Home Upgrade Grant scheme, you will need to:
