BACS and Discretionary Housing payments over Christmas and the New Year

Due to office closures over Christmas and New Year, please see details below of amended payment dates.

BACS payments

There will be no changes to the Housing Benefit payments over this Christmas period. Housing Benefit payments that are due to be paid on 30 December will be paid as normal into accounts on 30 December 2024.

Housing Benefit payments due in accounts on 2 January 2025 will be paid into customer accounts as normal on 2 January 2025.

Discretionary Housing Payments

Discretionary Housing Payments due to be paid into customer accounts on 25 December 2024 will be paid into customer account early on 24 December 2024.

Discretionary Housing Payments due to be paid into customer accounts on 1 January 2025 will be paid into customer account early on 31 December 2024.

Refunds

Please note any refunds requested after 18 December 2024 will not be paid into customer accounts until 3 January 2025. 

Please remember, you must as usual continue to:

• pay your Council Tax and business rate charges
• notify us of any changes in your circumstances using the online forms or by emailing the relevant department
