Council announces return of Christmas memorial service at Gorleston Crematorium
Residents are invited to attend a Christmas memorial service at the Crematorium Chapel in Gorleston to remember loved ones who have sadly passed away over the years.
The service, which includes prayers, readings, and music, will take place on Sunday 5, December at 2pm.
This years' service will be led by Rev Charles Powles and civil celebrant Hazel Cresswell-King. People will also be able to view the service on YouTube until 5 January, 2022.
Cllr Carl Smith, leader of the council, said: "We're pleased to be able to offer this service in person after last year's service was forced to take place virtually due to Covid restrictions.
"This service is an opportunity to come together as a community this Christmas to remember and pay tribute to those family and friends we've lost over the years, to celebrate their lives, good times we've spent with them, and keep their memories alive.
"For those who cannot attend in person, the service will be recorded and uploaded to the council's YouTube channel."
Last year's event was held virtually due to Covid restrictions. It was pre-recorded in the chapel by the council's Bereavement Services Team and made available for residents to watch on YouTube.
