Great Yarmouth Borough Council to debate local government reorganisation

The leader of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Councillor Carl Smith, said: "Great Yarmouth Borough Council, alongside Norfolk's borough, city and district councils, has published a council report outlining potential changes to how local government services are delivered in Norfolk.

The landlords' forum event was held at Great Yarmouth Town Hall

''The report contains an Interim Plan in response to the Government's instruction to reorganise the delivery of local services in the county. All the councils have worked hard collaboratively to arrive at this point, and we can now bring this forward to our elected members to debate.

''The Interim Plan, produced with input from independent experts, analyses various options and highlights key points around local identity, service delivery and the risks and opportunities of three proposed governance options.

''Our council will meet on Thursday, March 20, to debate this report and make recommendations."
