Area Forums and Tenant Engagement Panel

Behind every service and home is an experience that matters

Area Forums

An area forum is an open meeting where council housing tenants can discuss local housing services with the council and have a say on service delivery and improvements.

  • share views and suggest improvements on issues that matter most in neighbourhoods
  • hear updates from across the Housing Assets Service
  • discuss priorities for the area
  • look at performance of services, estate management and tenant feedback
  • working together, look to identify any improvements and put plans in place to bring them to life
  • to act as a sounding board and area-based test of opinion as and when required

Area forums will aim to meet 3 times a year and are open to all tenants

Forums will be held in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth and online. Dates will be published here.

Tenant Engagement Panel

We are looking for tenants to be part of our exciting new involvement opportunity.

This year we are setting up a tenant panel so you can have a greater say in what we do. We value our tenant's experience and insights and want to work together to continuously improve the services delivered.

As a Tenant Engagement Panel Member, you will make an important contribution in a role with wide-ranging responsibilities for example: reviewing customer-facing policies, reviewing performance and service delivery and being consulted about the best approach for tenants.

If you are interested, please contact Russell at residentengagement@great-yarmouth.gov.uk (tenant engagement panel) for more information.

How will it work?

  • the panel will be an independent group of up to 12 tenants and can include one leaseholder within that number
  • the panel will meet quarterly in person after the performance information has been compiled. It may meet in between to carry out any specific pieces of work or support any projects
  • we will provide support including training and covering expenses

We held the first introduction meeting on Wednesday 16 October at 6pm in the Town Hall. We will circulate dates for forthcoming meetings soon.
