Privacy Notice: nominating assets of community value
About Us: Great Yarmouth Borough Council (the Council) of Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF is the data controller for the purposes of 'Data Protection Legislation. Data Protection Legislation means the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and all other applicable or amending legislation.
Processing purpose: We will use your personal information to process your Asset of Community Value application. We process this data as part of our duty as a local authority. This is part of our public task defined under Article 6(1)(e) GDPR, and an official function set out in the Localism Act 2011 and The Assets of Community Value (England) Regulations 2012.
Data sharing: Great Yarmouth Borough Council may share the information provided with the owner and/or landlord of the nominated asset, local & county Councillors, parish council and any other interested party.
Data retention: We will keep your data securely and confidentially for 6 years. After that time, we will securely destroy your data.
Your rights: You have a number or rights available to you, including the potential right to see copies of all the data held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to request the Council to restrict what it does with your data in certain circumstances, to object to what the Council may do with your data, and to data portability. Please note that these rights are not absolute and there may be circumstances where they do not apply or can be overridden by the Council, in which case we would inform you.
