We are changing bin collection days in April 2024
Dear Resident,
You may already be aware from the tag placed on your bin after your last collection that we are making changes to our Household Waste and Recycling collection rounds. We are changing our collection routes to ensure the service is as efficient as possible.
What does that mean for my waste/recycling/garden collections?
The alternate Weekly Collection frequency will not change. If you pay a Garden Waste subscription, we will continue to collect your brown bin on an Alternate Weekly Collection.
However, your bin collection day may change. The time of collection may also be different but the advice to residents will remain the same, ensure your bin is out by 6.30am on the day of collection. The general waste/recycling alternate pattern may also switch. These changes will only happen during the changeover fortnight (between 2nd and 12th April) and then will remain your new collection day going forward.
When will your collection day change?
Changes for all the collections of all waste types will take effect from the week commencing 1 April 2024.
Which days will be my new collection days?
Please visit myaccount.great-yarmouth.gov.uk/find-my-waste-collection-days to find your bin collection days.
Other important information
Please ensure your bin is out at your normal presentation point by 6.30am on your notified collection day as we will be unable to return for missed bins. If your waste collection is delayed by these changes, we will collect a maximum of two black sacks per household tied-up and placed out beside your bin on the first new black bin collection day only. We will collect additional recycling as always but please ensure any glass is contained within the bin and additional recycling is placed in a box beside the bin.
Garden Waste bin collection
If your Garden Waste should have been collected between 2nd to 5th April (under the current collection scheme) and your new collection date will now be the week after, we will extend your subscription accordingly.
If you are a Garden Waste sack customer, please call 01493 742200 to arrange collection of your sack as usual.
