Council's main contractor for Marina Centre Development offers grants to local groups in the borough
Morgan Sindall, the council's main construction partner on the Marina Centre Development, is offering grants to local businesses, schools, community groups and charities in the Great Yarmouth borough, through their Customer Experience Initiative.
The construction company has already supported the local economy by using SME companies in Great Yarmouth for 75 per cent of the project's supply chain, providing employment opportunities for people living locally and offering real-world training for Great Yarmouth apprentices during the project.
The small grants can be used for a variety of reasons, including refurbishment, sponsorship of an event or team, benches, clean ups, equipment or anything else suitable.
Although there is no formal application process for the grants on offer, those hoping to receive one will need to email marketing@great-yarmouth.gov.uk with a description of the proposal, who it's for, the cost of project, any previous quotes or sketches, ideal timescales for assistance and a contact name, number and email address. Applications close on 3 September 2021.
