Independent examination of planning document is postponed due to coronavirus
The independent Planning Inspector appointed to examine Great Yarmouth's Local Plan Part 2 has postponed the examination hearings as a result of coronavirus, with revised dates to be announced in due course.
In July 2020, Great Yarmouth Borough Council submitted the final draft of this key planning document to Government, in order to undergo the standard independent checks for soundness and legal compliance by an appointed Planning Inspector.
Examination hearing sessions were originally scheduled to take place via video conference in January and February 2021, starting on January 12. The council has since been informed that, due to the inspector's home circumstances resulting from Covid restrictions, it is not reasonable nor appropriate to proceed with those dates and the hearings will be rescheduled.
Further information on the examination hearings, including rescheduled dates when available, will be published in due course on the council's website at www.great-yarmouth.gov.uk/local-plan-part2-examination.
