Sensational Circus Starts
The Hippodrome Great Yarmouth Summer All New Circus and Water Spectacular is now well underway and already breaking attendance records even in the current heat wave. The first Sunday saw a special performance for the New High Sheriff of Norfolk, Lady Clare Agnew and V.I.P guests including the High Sheriff and Majors from all over East Anglia. High spot of the evening was when a lookalike High Sheriff fell into the pool, with an amazing gasp from the invited audience! And relief when they realised it was a lookalike!
The circus has a line-up of the world's most dynamic, exciting and enthralling circus talent, this year's Summer show is bigger and better than ever. Jack Jay the show's producer and ringmaster said " We always try to make our shows bigger and better than ever, but this year we really went all out and make it the ultimate celebration not just of this amazing anniversary of Peter Jays 40 years at the Hippodrome but also of circus in general."
Peter Jay, artistic curator of The Hippodrome said "I've seen a lot of shows, and hundreds of circus performers during my 40 years here, but I really think this is our most exciting line-up yet, I can't wait for people to come and experience not just the show but this magical building." The show will feature some favourites from recent years including the breath taking Motorbike Globe of Death Riders alongside some never before seen acrobatic street talents direct from Chicago USA. And of course beautiful synchronized swimmers within the legendary Water Spectacular.
Peter said "The Hippodrome is so much more than just the circus show itself, the water feature alone is an internationally recognised heritage sight and one of only 3 left globally. There's also our incredible backstage museum which gives you a chance to really immerse yourself in this magical building. Whether you are a regular to our shows or are thinking of coming for the first time, this is the year to do it!"
Ben Jay, The Hippodromes general manager and also technical director encouraged people to come along saying. "Forget any preconceptions you might have about circus, our shows here are really like no other. This is now one of the most technically advanced shows you will see. Think The Greatest Showman, Britain's Got Talent and a pop concert all rolled into one!"
Acts from all over the world form a superstar cast of circus talent, Including the USA, Finland, Belgium, Portugal and Brazil. The show will be hosted by Hippodrome favourite Jack Jay. Jack, who also produces and directs the shows will be joined by madcap Scottish comedian and family favourite Johnny Mac, who can't wait to get the mayhem started.
