Middlegate residents to share pizza and thoughts
RESIDENTS living in Great Yarmouth's Middlegate area are being invited to an evening of free wood-fired pizza and refreshments and to share their experiences and thoughts about their neighbourhood.
The Food for Thought event at Great Yarmouth Library, on Thursday April 26, is a drop-in event for everyone in Middlegate, from 5pm to 7.30pm. Children can build their own pizzas and take part in fun activities while adults can explore community life and their aspirations for the area.
The event will follow the My Middlegate youth event at the Middlegate Hut this Thursday, where young people are invited to a free BBQ and pamper session to discuss how they feel about life on Middlegate and share ideas that would positively enrich their experience as residents.
Daniel Hastings, Community Development Manager at Comeunity, the borough council's Neighbourhoods Management Programme for the area, said: "These events create fantastic opportunities to support stronger, better connected communities. Our primary objective is to bring together people for an informal chat about their priorities and aspirations for their neighbourhood.
"Middlegate is a strong community and we want to seek ways to support ideas that will build on its strengths and further its potential. We really hope people will come along for a community evening and help us create a picture of what the community is thinking about the environment they live in."
