Charity collections
If you want to collect for charity on the street or house-to-house you must have the correct permit/licence.
You should contact the Licensing Team to discuss available dates before applying to collect for a charity on the street or house-to-house. We only allow one charity to collect per day to avoid public annoyance and to give charities a fair chance of making a reasonable collection. You need to apply at least 28 days before the intended collection date.
You can then complete:
- Street Collection application form (PDF) [235KB] (opens new window)
- House to House Collection application form (PDF) [33KB] (opens new window)
When you submit your application, you must also provide a current criminal record disclosure. This can be obtained via the GOV.UK - Request a basic DBS check service (opens new window).
A returns form (PDF) [76KB] (opens new window) should be completed detailing an account of the collection. This should be provided to the Licensing Authority within one month of the expiry of the licence.
