Families invited to join innovative new holiday walk in Great Yarmouth

The new Great Yarmouth Heritage Guides walk this summer uses technology to engage with families as they take part in the activity.

Seaside Adventure into the Past takes place on Sunday, August 18, at 10am. The walk starts in front of the Carlton Hotel on Great Yarmouth seafront and will be led by an officially trained guide. While taking part in the walk, families can also use an app called Actionbound to bring a slice of Great Yarmouth's rich history to life.

As well as listening to the guide, people have the opportunity to hear voices from the past in short videos and there is a fun, interactive quiz based on what can be seen and heard as the walk progresses.

The Actionbound app has been integrated into the well-loved heritage walks to provide an extra fun and interactive angle to the family activity.

Aimed at families with children aged 8+, the walk lasts about an hour and uses the Actionbound app to keep walkers engaged. The final stop of the walk includes a complimentary trip to Williamsons Old Penny Arcade at Merrivale Model Village on the seafront for children to play on the vintage slot machines with 5 penny tokens.
