Great Yarmouth Town Hall to host Swing and Jive dance evening

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start for the event which offers a perfect opportunity for novice dancers, professional dancers and everyone in between to soak up the jiving fun up until the evening comes to a close at 11pm.

A demonstration and workshop will be delivered by DJ Swingymabob, who leads dance classes that are a fun and friendly way for people to start, improve and polish their swing and jive moves. Then dance the evening away with great vintage music plucked from the days of the roaring 20s right through to the timeless rock and roll tunes of the 1950s. 

Guest soloist Karla Beare will also be serenading dancers as they twirl around the room. Karla is a frequent lead vocalist with the highly acclaimed Piccadilly Orchestra.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council events co-ordinator, Wendy Takman, said: ''The Assembly Room at the Town Hall is a beautiful setting for dance events and our Jive and Swing evenings are always popular.

''With experts on hand to learn from and wonderful music, we hope people will have a fantastic evening of entertainment and look forward to another successful event at the Town Hall here in Great Yarmouth.''

The ticket includes the dance demonstration and workshop and access to a fully licensed bar.
