This form enables you to make an application to carry out works on a tree within the Borough.

In order to complete this form you will need to provide us with details of the tree(s) which require the work, who owns them (if not the applicant) and where the tree is located (if not on the same property as the applicant/owner). If a Tree Preservation Order is in place for the tree(s) you will need to declare this and if known inform us of the associated TPO number(s) - if you are uncertain of this you can verify TPOs via our Tree Preservation Order and conservation area map.

It is preferable that you attach any supporting documentation to this application; however, if you are unable to do so you can still continue to make the application with an option to indicate to us how you will provide that documentation.
Please note: Tree work should be carried out by trained, competent and appropriately insured arborists to a good standard, to comply with BS3998 Recommendations for Tree Work.

A list of contractors is available on request. If the chosen tree surgeon is not on the list provided, then we will require proof of their competence, qualifications and insurance.

  Who we are: Great Yarmouth Borough Council (the Council), Town Hall, Hall Plain Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2QF, 01493 856100, is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA).
  How we use your information: We will use your personal information in order to determine the issuing or enforcement of a Tree works Application. The lawful processing ground for this information is defined under Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR, commonly known as public task and has a clear basis in law namely, the Town and Country Planning Act, The Town and Country Planning (Tree Preservation) (England) Regulations 2012 and related legislation.
  Data Sharing: We will share your data with Great Yarmouth Borough Services (GYBS) as they undertake arboricultural assessments on behalf of the Council. The Council will store names, addresses and contact details, but will not publish or share with any other organisation, unless required to by the planning inspectorate or other legal authority should it be deemed necessary due to a decision or legal process.
  Retention: All information submitted as part of an application for Tree works is kept indefinitely as it forms part of the planning history relating to a property or piece of land.
  Your rights: You have a number or rights available to you, including the potential right to see copies of all the data held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to request the Council to restrict what it does with your data in certain circumstances, to object to what the Council may do with your data, and to data portability. Please note that these rights are not absolute and there are circumstances where they do not apply or the Council may override these rights, however, if this is the case you will be informed of this.
